A student can study for an Associate of Applied Science Degree through the Massage Therapy program at Allied College - North, within a short span of time.
What Jobs Will You Be Qualified For?
Through our training, you will learn to employ a number of therapeutic techniques to massage soft tissues affected by stress, injury, or illness. Your knowledge will assist your clients in reducing stress, renewing energy, increasing flexibility, improving posture and more.
You will learn what you need to know to operate your very own massage therapy practice. What can our Massage Therapy program offer you?
- Knowledge anatomy, physiology, and pathology and soft tissue injury treatment.
- Supervised training in the following treatments: traditional Swedish massage, hydrotherapy, sports massage, deep tissue massage, chair massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, lymphatic drainage, spa treatments.
- Instruction in proper body mechanics to prevent injury.
- Nutrition, stress management and wellness education.
- First aid training and CPR certification.
- Massage therapy business management.
- The opportunity to practice skills in a supervised clinical setting.

Once you have finished the program, your expertise in that area will enable you to open and manage your own Massage Therapy Practice.
Prerequisites are not required for any course, as each one remains an individual unit.At the beginning of any course, a student may enter the program and complete all of them by continuing through the sequence.
Supervised Clinic:
After the completion of coursework, you will have the opportunity to participate in a six-week supervised clinic. Here, you will have the opportunity to put into practice the skills you've learned during the program's classroom time.The clinic is 120 hours long, unpaid, and supervised.
