Curriculum:
Intellectual discipline and technical expertise are combined in our Professional Massage Therapy program course of instruction. Committed to instilling the value of client centered care, courses in massage theory and practice, communication and ethics in therapeutic relationships, as well as real life clinical experience, are supported and supplemented by studies in structure, function and disease of the human body. Skilled and engaged faculty, aided by relevant literature and classroom technology, combine scientific foundations with hands-on learning to create an experiential educational setting which develops clinical reasoning skills. Our graduating students will be well prepared for a career as a massage therapist. They will also be prepared to sit for the National Certification Exam and state licensing exams.
Philosophy
With out a doubt, massage is an art and a science. It takes a holistic approach to achieving good health for the patient, as well as the therapist. Documentation has been found proving its existence in India, Egypt, Japan, China, Rome and Greece, over 3,000 years ago. Today, you may expect to take various courses to round out your massage therapy education. The curriculum will most likely include the foundational areas of Science & Research, Communication and Ethics, and of course, Practical Hands-On training in the application of massage.
Maternity and Infant Massage Therapists.
Our program is the most vast training in the rising specialties of pregnancy and postpartum massage therapy, professional labor support and infant massage instruction. With 200 hours of specialized training, those who complete the program will enjoy the title as skilled Maternity and Infant Massage Therapists.
