Massage Therapy
Students learn clinical practice, hygiene, ethics, pathology, physiology, anatomy, theoretical massage, and practical massage in the Massage Therapy program. Training is offered in therapeutic massage principles, hydrotherapy and allied therapeutic modalities. These included such things as massage techniques, the external application of water, heat, cold, topical preparations, and mechanical devices. There are both lecture and clinical aspects of the core curriculum. The final portion of the curriculum, which consists of supervised experiences in a clinical environment, requires competencies, logs, and evaluations completed by the student. At the end of the program the students who have attended the classes diligently, done the externship and properly, studied the topics, and practice in their skills, will have what it takes to obtain an entry-level employment as a massage therapist.
