Timeline for the Professional Massage Therapy Program:

  • Full-time students, 7 months

Seven months in the Professional Massage Therapy Program can prepare you to be a successful professional bodyworker. The program meets, and goes beyond the regulations that have been stated by the national certification and also by most state and municipal governments for licensing. The Professional Massage Therapy Program teaches students not only the practical aspects of massage therapy, but also the business aspects so that they can become successful in the field.

Students learn light energy work as well as structural modalities, Eastern as well as Western theory and technique and the treatment of specific pain and dysfunction as well as a holistic approach to health and healing while pursuing Professional Massage Therapy Program.

Our Professional Massage Therapy Program includes CPR, First Aid, Pathology, and Anatomy & Physiology, to give our students the proper depth of knowledge required to be a health care practitioner. Not only does the UCMT Family of Schools (FOS) train students to become successful in the marketplace, but it also prepares students to become proficient bodyworkers.

In order to further their progress in the Professional Massage Therapy Program, the student must complete a thorough Professional Development course. Sound business practices, holistic health care approach, job interview skills, resume composition, advertising, presentation, massage therapy business operation and startup, and techniques of enrollment are covered in this class. Students get on-the-job training in preparation for professional work by participating in the Clinical Internship.

Master Bodyworker Program

The Master Bodyworker Program offers a higher multidisciplinary method to bodywork training students to holistically practice massage therapy in all types of therapeutic setting. UCMT FOS graduates are the only ones eligible for the Master Bodyworker Program.

The student's intuition, and their abilities in clinical analysis and application of advanced techniques in Myokinetic Techniques, Hydrotherapy Spa Treatments, Sports Injury Management, and Rehabilitative Protocols will be strengthened by modality-specific assessments. Graduates of the Master Bodyworker Program build a skill set that allows them to effectively and efficiently meet each client's unique needs.
